Welcome to Thompson’s Farm u-pick experience! For over 125 years, our family has been growing premium tree-ripened fruit in the fertile Naches Valley of Washington State. Our u-pick operation lets you experience the joy of harvesting fruit directly from our orchards while enjoying the beautiful scenery of our 40-acre farm.

U-pick availability changes throughout the season based on weather, crop size, and ripening schedules. We typically offer u-pick on weekends during peak harvest times, with some weekday opportunities depending on the fruit and season.

U-Pick Guidelines

Picking Rules:

• Pick carefully – handle fruit gently to avoid bruising
• Only pick ripe fruit (we’ll show you how to tell)
• Don’t damage trees or remove spurs/branches
• Children must be supervised at all times
• Stay in designated picking areas

What’s Not Allowed:

• No dogs (service animals only)
• No climbing trees or ladders (we provide what you need)
• Don’t eat excessive amounts while picking (tasting is fine!)
• No picking into grocery bags – use provided buckets

Safety & Courtesy:

• Watch for sprinkler pipes and irrigation equipment
• Drive slowly on farm roads
• Park in designated areas only
• Respect other pickers’ space
• Leave orchards cleaner than you found them

Timing Your Visit

• Arrive early for cooler temperatures (mornings are best)
• Weekends can be busy – weekdays are quieter
• Plan 1-2 hours depending on how much you want to pick
• No reservation needed unless you’re a large group

Pricing: Fruit is sold by the pound. Prices are posted at the farm and vary by fruit type. We accept cash and cards.

Location: Our u-pick orchard is located at 9535 Old Naches Highway, Naches, WA – about 1/2 mile from our Highway 12 farm market. Follow signs or call for directions.
